1993, the Feuilleton de France Musique: Franz Liszt (produced by Robert Arnaut)

Robert Arnaut (1929-2013), one of the most emblematic voices of Radio France in the 20th century, puts his radiophonic genius at the service of the biography of Franz Liszt in ten episodes in 1993, with sound effects, atmospheres, dialogues and piano improvisations in the Liszt style.

Welcome to the Treasures of France Musique. Today: 1993.

At that time, there was what was called the France Musique soap opera : series of biographies put in the form of fiction with atmospheres, sound effects, readings, dialogues and large musical extracts. This whole week is Franz Liszt who is in the spotlight in the France Musique soap opera : 5 episodes out of a total of 10, designed by Robert Arnaut, great journalist and reporter for France Inter, who went through the Toulouse Conservatory, and whose motto was “radio can also be an art, and sound can be greater than the image. You will see that effectively, he had a very radio sense of storytelling. In this first episode: 1823, all of Paris talks about Rossini, and a father tries to enroll his son Franz in the piano class at the Paris Conservatory.

Radio France will never ask you to provide your bank details.

With improvisations in the style of Liszt on the piano by Gérard Parmentier.
