The Chapeiry library “Au coin du livre” invites you to meet Miss Caroline and Célia on Friday May 27, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the Chapeiry communal hall
Mademoiselle Caroline is an illustrator and author of numerous comic strips;
Célia is a young nurse originally from Chapeiry, heroine of her latest book “Le journal de Célia”.
In this graphic novel, Mademoiselle Caroline with her pencils tells us about Célia’s life. Already, in “normal” times, Célia’s daily life is subject to an infernal rhythm and the conditions are not optimal: special hours, lack of means and staff, miserable salary in short everything we have heard about… So, when the covid strikes… Célia and her colleagues will also have to face up and adapt.
The proposals are fair and the drawings superb. The soft tones and colors make the subject more approachable and make Celia’s Journal a beautiful biographical and documentary comic strip.
This book was noticed at the Salon Infirmier in Paris and received the Pélerin prize. It’s a comic strip testimony to all that healthcare personnel had to go through during the first phase of the pandemic. Your presence will be a tribute to their work and dedication. It’s moving, hard-hitting but also tender, humorous and positive.
